We’re Going Back to Our Roots—And Building for the Future

Since 1983, First Command Educational Foundation has supported military families through educational scholarships. Over time, our mission grew broader—but now, we’re returning to the core of who we are.

We’re proud to announce a new chapter that focuses on our core mission of providing scholarships for those who serve and those who support them.

By realigning our core focus to support military families through scholarships, we can invest more directly in students and increase the impact of every donation. Our 3-year goal: grow our annual scholarship awards from an average of $127,000 to $300,000. In 5 years: $500,000+.

New and expanded scholarships will support:

  • Military Spouses pursuing higher education or new careers
  • Disabled veterans facing unique educational challenges
  • Transitioning service members translating military experience into civilian certifications
  • Veterans at career pivot points
  • Children of military families (active duty, reserves, National Guard, veterans, and Gold Star)

We’re also exploring new partnered scholarship opportunities with community service organizations and philanthropic donors aligned to our mission. The Carroll H. Payne Scholarship Program continues unchanged.
